Rachel Turk kicked off competition today in the 2024 National Car Rental PGA Jr. League National Championship.
The National Championship, takes place from October 9th-13th, 2024. It is the culminating, celebratory event in the 13u PGA Jr. League Championship season. The tournament will take place at PGA Fields Ranch West in Frisco, Texas, and will be broadcast live on ESPN. This event will mark Rachel’s first major national television coverage.
Rachel will represent Team Texas, one of 12 teams to compete in this event. More than 75,000 players led by more than 2,400 PGA professionals participated in PGA Jr. League this year. Twelve regional teams with a total of 96 players made it through progressive qualifiers at the local, district, subregional, and regional levels to participate in the National Finals.
Rachel and her team, which also includes Ava Frazier, JP Lynch, Texas Terry, Beckett McLoughlin, and Dawson Dial, punched their tickets to the National Finals by defeating the reigning National Championship team at PGA Jr. League Regionals at Forest Creek in September.
“Success in this game depends less on strength of body than strength of mind and character.”
Rachel Turk
The first two days of play take place in a mixed gender, stroke play, scramble format, with the final day of play taking place in a math play format.
Those who do not catch Rachel live may catch replays on ESPN and its family of brands.
